Bespoke Wedding Suits

Tailor Made, serving London & Cheshire

You should wear a suit for your wedding. We’ve been doing this a long time and can advise you clearly on what will work for you and what won’t.  Whether you’re looking for something very traditional, or with a bit more flare, we’ll make sure it fits, looks right next to your bride, and that you’ll look back in a decade and feel happy you made the right choice.  This takes time and attention, so get in touch!

The Full Bespoke Suit

Handmade. For a skilled tailor to spend a quarter of an hour on a single button-hole, those few minutes of labour are backed by a seven-year apprenticeship, plus his/her years of experience on the job. Now imagine that same skill and care on your entire garment, and you’ll begin to get an idea of why this is so special.
You’re getting married – it’s worth it.

But it’s not only about the suit because you are the one wearing it.  Those unique skills of the Proper Bespoke Tailor can create an outfit shaped so well, so subtly formed, many will assume it’s your natural endowment cutting that fine figure across the room! Only handwork can produce that result, something you can look back on with pride.

Our flagship service, the master tailors of Phillip Alexander have been crafting beautiful bespoke suits for gentlemen to wear on their wedding day since 1876.

A bespoke wedding suit from a master tailor is a special thing, and only fitting for an event as special as one’s wedding. Created with you from start to finish, your preferences will be tailored in and anything that you dislike will be tailored around, with invaluable recommendations and advice from a skilled professional. Your tailor is your consultant, and your tool for creating something personal and sophisticated.

The 3 Step Process

We Listen

Our bespoke tailoring process starts by listening to you.

In your initial consultation, we discuss where and how the garment will be worn so we can make the right recommendations.

It is helpful to know what type of suit you would like, what the occasion is, and any preferred fabrics, styles and finishes. More importantly, we want to know what you don’t like.

Giving us as much information as possible will help us craft the perfect suit for your tastes.

If you’re unsure what you would like, our master tailor is on hand to offer invaluable advice and guidance to help you craft your dream suit.

We Consult

There are endless possibilities when it comes to choosing a bespoke suit. You can choose from thousands of fabric samples, style options, and adorning details to make a suit that is uniquely yours.

With this many possibilities, you may wish to rely on our expert guidance. We can help you navigate the many options and guide you towards your ideal bespoke suit. If you’re attending a specific event, we can advise you on the most appropriate options.

We make suggestions, but ultimately you make the decisions.

We agree on the cloth, lining and style details during this process. After this, we take a series of precise measurements to ensure a perfect fit.

We Create

The first step of creating your bespoke suit is to create a unique paper pattern. Our expert cutters lay the pattern over your chosen fabric and outline the components in tailoring chalk. The fabric is then carefully cut by hand.

The cloth is assembled by hand into a ‘baste’. This is loosely sewn together with the canvas inner linings and shoulder trimmings by our tailors. The ‘foundation’ of your bespoke suit is now ready for your first fitting.

This fitting involves trying on the ‘baste’, where our master tailor makes any adjustments that are needed.

Your garment is assembled and hand-sewn together by skilled tailors to produce the finished product. It is then finally presented to you, the customer, for a final fitting.

“No weddings are the same and we thrive on creating individual and unique garments that fit the style, form and theme of the wedding seamlessly.
