thatpretorianguy2023-06-28It probably began back in 2002, I used to walk past Phillip Alexander on the way to Wilmslow High School for about 6 years wondering what they created in there! Until I joined the Infantry, never saw it again until some years later the second time I joined, this time as armoured (must have hit my head thinking I'd do it all over again!) And the leadership being so great we were told to have No2's dress ready on Tuesday for remembrance day, it was Friday at the time! Taking weeks to get anything done through the Army it was John who saved me and had my trousers sorted the next day. Fast forward some years later and it was John's store that rang in my head and I was straight back for the most important bit of tailoring of my life, my wedding suit. Once again he was the most polite professional I've ever dealt with and provided me with a suit worthy of my beautiful bride! I'm yet to get the professional photos yet but the review couldn't wait. If you're getting married you shouldn't be going anywhere else!

My initial consultation with Phillip Alexander was a relaxed yet detailed experience. The main objective of the first visit was to get to know my character and understand my aspirations of a wedding suit for the groom. Together we discussed different ways to express my personality through the grooms wedding suit.
I was interested in exploring the use of pattern and texture in an un-conventional way to produce a classic morning suit jacket. Phillip Alexander were not phased by my ideas. Their expertise and creativity turned my vision into an individual yet classic garment.
The subsequent consultations guided me through the finishing touches to my bespoke wedding suit that included adding a waistcoat in a contrasting pinstripe pattern. The bespoke tailored white shirt and white tie completed the look. I felt this level of detail gave my wedding suit the individuality that I was looking for, a unique custom piece.
The finished garment fitted me like no other suit I have ever had.
I felt confident but also comfortable throughout the day and into the evening. There were many compliments from guests commenting on the subtle details that made the suit so special.
Looking back at the tailoring service I feel like Phillip Alexander listened to me, had an abundance of ideas and gave me their dedicated attention to create an elegant final wedding suit, that I will be able to use for many years here on.
My expectations were exceeded. Before I met Phillip Alexander I had a pre-conceived idea of what a typical groom’s wedding suit would look like. Philip Alexander gave me an enjoyable tailoring service that created a wedding suit that I had pride in wearing.

a large party, we had such varying requirements, yet you ensured
everyone looked and felt wonderful. We had such a magical day and
there were so many comments from our guests about the suits.
From our first appointment with you, we knew we absolutely wanted to
have Philip Alexander suits. The guidance and advice you provided was
fantastic and you ensured that we were making a choice that would work
for everyone. You made us feel comfortable and spent so much time with
us, it really felt like nothing was too much trouble. The time you
spent with us in those first meetings considering all of the options,
thinking about our colour scheme and of course the bridesmaids dresses
really helped us make our decision on the tailored wedding hire suits.
To have tailored wedding hire suits, meant that every suit fitted
perfectly and made all of our groomsmen feel very special. We honestly
don’t believe that we could have had suits that fitted so perfectly
for so many different shapes and sizes from anywhere else.
And the Wedding Suit for the Groom just looked fantastic; if you were
to put him next to a full Savile Row Bespoke Wedding Suit, he would
still look good.
The hassle of organising all nine of the men was taken care of for us
by your wonderful team who took on the task of arranging fittings with

managing fittings to accommodate everyone can be a challenge but we
didn’t have to worry about that.
Nothing was too much trouble and every last tweak that was needed was
done and organised in advance of us collecting the suits, you really
took the stress away for us.
As you know, all of our party decided to have handmade bespoke shirts
because they were so impressed with the quality and craftsmanship that
goes into everything you do. The bespoke shirts looked amazing and we
know they will be cherished and worn on many occasions in the future.

Just a quick note to express my gratitude regarding the three piece Bespoke Wedding Suit I purchased from you for my wedding on the 2nd March 2012. I realise it two years since the wedding, but the time has passed
so quickly. In fact my wife and I were in Edinburgh last weekend celebrating our second wedding anniversary and I wore my suit for dinner which reminded me to write.
Back in 2012 before the wedding I had contacted several tailors with regard to purchasing a bespoke wedding suit. Not until, purely by chance, I called at your establishment did I feel confident to place an order with anyone.
At the initial meeting I was impressed with your knowledge and professionalism, I was guided through the process of measuring, fittings, the design and look of the finished garment.
All my request and requirements were discussed and sound advise was offered.
Once I had placed the order and a timescale ad been discussed I could not wait for the process to start, such was my anticipation. I Iooked forward to each fitting to see how the garment had developed; and was always impressed with the attention to detail and craftsmanship involved at every stage of manufacture.
Whether it was the length of a sleeve, the width of the lapel or the line of the trousers every subtle detail was treated with precision giving the finished garment a real look and feel of quality.
On the actual wedding day having my own Grooms Wedding suit, made specifically for me, really gave me confidence. Just to know that it fitted perfectly and looked sharp, not flashy, but elegant and understated. I purposely went for a classic black three piece suit so that I could wear it again after the wedding and indeed
I do at every opportunity. I really enjoy wearing it, makes me feel good and it looks great. I am now a firm believer that if possible every man should treat himself to a hand made bespoke suit. In fact I enjoy wearing my suit so much I am planning on having another bespoke suit made, perhaps in tweed this time and I am
again looking forward to whole experience because that is what it is – a marvelous experience.

We had visited several suit shops but from the moment we walked into Phillip Alexander we both knew we had found something special. We were immediately made to feel at ease. There was never anybody else in the store when we had an appointment, which made us feel like we always had your full attention and that you really cared about our special day.
Mick hadn’t really wanted to wear a morning suit as he didn’t think it would suit him or that
he would find one that fitted properly. The sales assistant spent a great deal of time running through the different options that would fit with the traditional theme for our wedding, and encouraging Mick to try different styles and combinations. This turned out to be a great deal of fun, and much to my delight, Mick was actually convinced to try a morning suit, as the grooms wedding suit, and he loved it!
So much time and money is spent on the girls outfits and making sure they look their best, yet
we had been to so many weddings where the men in the wedding party were wearing tired ill fitting wedding suits.
It was important to us that Mick felt special on our wedding day, so although we were looking
for a Wedding Suit Hire Service, we felt reassured by the fact that Phillip Alexander’s “wedding suit hire” garments, were only hired for a set number of weddings, before they are taken out of action. And each one is individually tailored to fit properly, so consequently their suits never have that tired ‘hire look’.
Mick is originally from the North East of England meaning that his father, best man and one of his ushers had to make long journeys for their wedding suit hire fittings. You were so accommodating making everybody individual appointments that suited them.
The level of service continued right up until the day before the wedding, when we collected the
suits. The sales assistant made a final check to ensure that we avoided that wedding morning
panic of their being something missing!
Needless to say we were not disappointed with the suits on the day and we received so many
comments on how lovely they were.
